I have been researching the topic since the first year of my undergraduate study. I knew that it is a difficult and disturbing subject, so I wanted to wait to gain some confidence in my journalistic skills before I approach it.

I knew that this sort of topic requires a substantial amount of work and research, so I decided to leave it for my major multimedia project, in the last year of my studies. This way I can concentrate all of my effort on it and approach it on my own, with the help of my tutor and lecturers.

My interests have always led me to more difficult fields, so finding out about the non-offending paedophiles, I immediately felt drawn to know more. 

​

Through this subject I want to find out more about the MAPs. I want to understand what paedophilia is, how it can be prevented and if bringing these people into the light will bring others like them forward. With this project I want to focus on prevention rather than punishment and how it can be achieved.
